Performance/ Installation Time piece
I am also very interested in exploring time or a ‘moment’ in art. My work has progressed from portraying simply a static image in to capturing a fleeting moment.
In the installation sculpture piece ‘Give Me A Second’, I have incorporated the concept of literally capturing time in my art. Although in contrast with the anticipation and almost slowing of time in my ‘Dress’ video piece, I aimed to physically represent a split second in time. Through popping a balloon full of bright blue ink, I created a freeze frame of the moment or second the balloon exploded, as the ink dispersed and splattered all over the paper mapping out the evidence/ history of the second.
